Most schools are set up in an afternoon. When you're ready, choose a plan. You're billed once a term, for the students you have at the start of term.

How is Edmate billed?
Once a term, for each student enrolled at the start of that term. The rate drops as your school grows: the first 100 students are on the highest rate, the next 200 on a lower one, and so on. Pay all three terms at once and you save 10%.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, GH¢150 a term. It only affects very small schools, and it covers your support and SMS.
What happens when the free trial ends?
You choose Basic, Standard or Premium from your Subscription page, termly or for the whole year, and pay your first invoice by mobile money or card. Your students, results and fees stay exactly as you left them, so there's nothing to set up again.
Do text messages cost extra?
Every plan comes with free SMS each term, based on your number of students (at least 200). If you need more, you buy a bundle, from 500 SMS for GH¢25. Bought credits never expire, and parents' sign-in codes are always sent.
When parents pay fees online, where does the money go?
To the school. Payments go through Paystack by mobile money or card and are paid out to the school's bank account. Paystack's standard charge applies; Edmate doesn't add a fee on top.
We use Excel and paper registers. How hard is it to switch?
You import your student roll from one spreadsheet, so nobody types names, classes or parents' numbers in again. On Premium, we do the import and set-up for you.
Can a parent see another child's results or fees?
No. Parents only see their own children. Every role, from teacher to accountant, only sees what that role is allowed to, and the server checks it on every request.
What if our internet goes down?
Edmate runs online, so it needs a connection to save. A mobile data bundle is enough to run the office day to day.
Who do we contact when we need help?
Basic includes email support. Standard adds WhatsApp support, and Premium gives you a named contact who knows your school.
